Method 1: VLC, the quick test
VLC is free, open source, and available for Windows, macOS and Linux.
- Install VLC Media Player and open it.
- On Windows choose Media → Open Network Stream. On macOS choose File → Open Network.
- Paste your M3U playlist URL into the box.
- Press Play.
- Open View → Playlist to see the full channel list.
If channels play here, your line is working and any problem on another device is that device’s setup, not your subscription. That makes VLC the most useful diagnostic tool you have.

Method 2: IPTV Smarters on desktop

Connecting a computer to your television

- Set the TV as an extended or duplicated display in your operating system.
- Set audio output to the television, which Windows often does not do automatically.
- Use full-screen playback and set the player to keep the screen awake.
- Consider a wireless keyboard with a trackpad if the laptop is across the room.
Getting the best results
- Use ethernet. Desktops and laptops both benefit, particularly for 4K.
- Close other bandwidth-heavy applications — cloud sync and large downloads compete directly with the stream.
- Update your graphics drivers. Hardware decoding depends on them, and outdated drivers cause stuttering that looks like a stream fault.
- Disable sleep and screensaver during long viewing.
- In VLC, raise the network caching value (Preferences → Input/Codecs) if playback stutters on an otherwise good connection.
